What Is The Use Of Giving Martinor Tablets?

Hello doctor, my mother is 70 years old and had her menopause in 1991. Suddenly for the past one month she has started bleeding and sometime spotting can be detected. Doctor in her area has prescribed martinor tablets? Can you please help me by clearing why this tablet has been given and what she should further do ?

Martinor contains Norethisterone, a hormone that is similar to a naturally synthesized hormone in the body in women who have not yet attained menopause. During menopause, the natural hormones gradually reduce and stop being synthesized.

While, bleeding and spotting can be harmless, at 70 years of age, an ultrasound would be recommended to rule out causes that need to be aggressively managed.
