What Is The Treatment Of Swollen Eye Caused By Allergy ?

My 3 year old has had an allergic reaction to the dog and has a swollen eye. My husband wants to put visine-a in it but I am not a fan of that idea? What is your recommendation.
The redness seems to have gone away, but the swelling appears to be getting worse. It's 1/2 way swollen shut right now

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

You may want to consider the use of an oral anti histamine to help to reduce the allergic response.

An anti allergy drop would be more useful at this point but it would be best not to put any thing in his or her eyes unless it has been approved by his doctor.

You may want consider an assessment by his doctor who may prescribe allergy drops that you can keep if needed.

I hope this helps
