What Is The Treatment Of Bump On Back Of Throat ?

I see some bumps in back of throat. One a bit bigger and that one seems to hurt and burn. This all started when I was on 20 days of Doxycycline. I also have a lot of throat clearing of mucous. Dr said back of throat has mucous plugged in it. Could this be the lump or lumps?

Hello

Welcome in H.C.M.

I have gone through your query regarding bump on the back of throat.

As you said that you were already taking antibiotic for 20 days so there are fair chances of GERD (gastro esophageal reflex disease). This usually develops due to acidity in stomach. Some times antibiotics give rise to acidity and patient present with same symptoms as you. So you may take some antacid with PPI for few days, I hope you will get responce otherwise you have to consult ENT specialist to rule out local diseases of throat having bump like-

1- Enlarge tonsils.

2- Retropharyngeal lymph nodes.

3- enlarged lymphoids at the base of tongue.

4- Antero choanal polyp.

All above may be ruled out by your ENT doctor.

Regards.
