What Is The Treatment For Yeast Infection?

Ok so I had a yeast infection before and I think I have one again I went and bought monistat just like I did last time and it stopped the itching and everything else inside my vagina but this time my clitoris is a little red and sensitive and when I pee it burns a little and I can see little white specks on it just 2 or 3 of them but I think it might just be some left over medicine

Infectious Diseases Specialist 's  Response
Hello, Thnx to contact us. If I am your treating doctor I would like to advice you that You must confirm the Infection whether it is yeast or something else; I advice you to start with Gram's staining, Culture & sensitivity. After that start taking drug according to organisms and their sensitivity pattern. Some yeast like candida krusei are inherently resistant to fluconazole group of antifungal agent so if you take resistant drug to that fungus it wil not respond. If you have anything else to ask please contact me. Thanx. Dr. Arun Tank; Infectious Disease Specialist
