Writer's cramp affects the fingers, hand or forearm. It is characterised by pain and discomfort while performing fine motor activity such as writing, sewing or playing musical instrument. Physical and occupational therapy including holding the pen differently, using a different position with paper and pen and using specially made splint can all cause reduce the discomfort.
Relaxation techniques and certain anti-cholinergic drugs provide relief in some individuals.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
