What Is The Treatment For Vomiting And Abdominal Pain?
Hi doctor, my mother who is over eighty has been vomiting periodically since morning; she complains of dizziness (as if the whole world were spinning) when she's alert. she has been sleeping on and off. She also had acute abdominal pain and some cramps. she's had a uti in the past. Also, yesterday she ate a very heavy christmas lunch (which she's not used to) and a heavy paratha for dinner. Thank you for your help and suggestion. A. Sen.
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, the over all symptoms given here for your mother could be due to intestinal infection and I would suggest to first take care for dehydration if it is there then she must be in need of IV fluids to correct the electrolyte imbalance second vomiting may be the matter of worry if it is sever one then also it needs injection (Antiemetic) which could be more effective if given through IV root, beside this infection also needs to be managed with proper antibiotic but first is to control vomiting and diarrhea hope this information helps.
