What Is The Treatment For Urinary Tract Infection?
Hello Dr, good morning. I am a female of 40 years and often suffer from UTI. Recently I was treated for UTI on 16 Dec with Cifex 200mg BD and Urikind 200mg TDS for 3 days. Before a week I again had the symptomatic UTI and later confirmed by urinanalysis report. This time the doctor prescribed the same medicines for 7 days. Please advise whether I should take the treatment for 7 days or 10 days to clear off the bacteria. Thanks and best regards.
Hi, dear I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern. You have urinary tract infection. You also have history of repeated urinary tract infection. So you should go for culture and sensitivity test. Then you should take antibiotics treatment accordingly. Levofloxacin or norfloxacin can be helpful. It is prescription based medicine so consult your doctor and take treatment accordingly. You should also check your blood sugar level. Because diabetes is the common cause of recurrent urinary tract infection.
Hope I have answered your question, if you have doubt then I will be happy to answer. Thanks for using health care magic. Wish you a very good health.
