What Is The Treatment For Urinary Tract Infection?

Hello there, i have a question.. i think i have contracted an UTI but i'm not sure if it is going away by itself..

about 5 days ago i would sting when i went to urinate, every day after that it would be less severe stinging.. after the third/fourth day the stinging went away (for the most part, sometimes it stings a bit after but then it goes away), i got a little bit of fever for one night and then it went away.

Do you still recommend seeing a doctor for antibiotics? or can i just sit it out? and will it eventually go away by itself?.

Thanks in advance.

Hello, usually when a person contracts UTI, patient normally has high grade fever which does not comes down on its own. Also there are other symptoms like burning during passing urine, frequent urination and so on.
From what history you give, i suspect you might have dehydration which also causes stinging urination but which improves if you take good amount of fluids.
I would advice you to increase your fluid intake, and see whether it helps, if the stinging continues, you can get an urine routine examination to see whether it contains any bacteria or pus cells. IF yes you can consult your doctor for starting of appropriate antibiotic.
Thank you
