Hello
You are having pleurisy i.e. accumulation of fluid between pleural membrane .
Reasons of such pleurisy many but in your case this may be due to car wreck, i.e. due to trauma or injury .
So this fluid may be due injury i.e. traumatic pleurisy .
So get in M R I as well as X RAY chest pa view to find out approximate amount of fluid in lungs membrane .
When such patient visit my clinic after complete information ( about amount of fluid ) I usually aspirate the fluid ( depending upon the amount of fluid present ) .There after get in culture and rug sensitivity of this aspirated fluid .
After culture of fluid start the treatment .
In my opinion consult a PULMONOLOGIST and get his opinion ( 2nd one ).
Good luck.
