What Is The Treatment For The IBS Started Since The Gall Bladder Removal Surgery?

I am a 42 year old woman. Since I had my gallbladder removed 15 years ago, I suffer from ibs.If I am in a stressful situation, I have sudden bowel problems. I have tried many different medications. The only thing that worked for me was xanax xr.The extended release kept me from feeling "high" My problem is that any doctor I mention xanax to goes on a tirade and labels me a drug seeker. How can I explain to a doctor that, as a caregiver, student, and future educator, that I am not just trying to get drugs.

Hi Dear!! Thanks for your query to HCM.
Read and reviewed facts of your query in context of your health concerns.
My Impression-
Based on the facts of your query, you seem to have-
Post-Cholecystectomy Syndrome(PCS) with bile acid induced diarrhea.
Treatment-
Plenty of fluids to maintain fluid balance
Cholestyramine-bile acid sequestrants-which by binding bile acids, reduce the diarrhea from its bile acid extra loads to intestines.
Cap Imodium 2 times a day
Cap-B12 Vit-1000 mcg
Tab Folic Acid-50 mgm
This would reduce the IBS which is PCS manifestation.
Hope this would resolve your health issues and would help you to plan further treatment with doctors there.

Good Day!!

Hi Dear !! Thanks for your query to HCM .
Read and reviewed your query and health concerns.
IN the given situation of Yours, seem to suffer from-POst-Chole Syndrome (PCS)with acute anxiety from your hypochondriac attitude.
You seem to suffer with bile load induced IBS like complaints.
The relief in its IBS, is due to the central calming effects, as it controls the IBS due to parasympthetic hypertonia and accompanied dysbiosis of gut microbial flora
Do's Suggested-
So treat PCS-with Cholestyramine resins
Correcting IBS like complaints with needful IBS yoghurt, bland diet and needful medicines from Physician.
Rule out piles/ fissure in ano-as causes of IBS.Also rule out other causes for this IBS.

This plan would reduce your dilemma from frequency/Urgency and incontinence.

Hope this would help you to plan further of this complex illness of yours.
