Hello, Your mother has got random swelling extending from the top (between the eyes) to the middle of her nose. Such symptoms are commonly caused due to allergic reaction to pollen, animal dander, cosmetic, dust, etc. It can also be due to some insect sting or common cold, developing sinus infection, pimple or bump or polyp. She is suggested not to touch or scratch the area affected. Let her take antihistamines at bed time to reduce swelling and inflammation. She can take Combiflam or Acetaminophen, one SOS when needed to ease pain. To reduce swelling and congestion in the nose due to allergy, sinus, cold, etc., she can apply Otrivin nasal drop, 2-3 drops twice daily. The symptoms should get reduced. She should get clinically examined by an ENT, get X-ray PNS, other investigations done to detect the pathology causing discomfort. Get treated at the earliest. Take care.
