What Is The Treatment For Swollen And Painful Lower Abdomen?

my husband has severe pain and occasional swelling in his lower left abdomen, that also radiates to his back, he also has chills, sweats and extreme fatigue. at the hospital last night with no tests ran or anything like that we were told it was a pulled muscle but i don't believe that.

Your husband has - severe pain - occasional swelling in left lower abdomen - radiates to the back - chills, sweats and fatigue.

All these symptoms are suggestive of a 'close -cavity infection in the abdomen.
The probable causes can be :
-Pyelonephritis.
-Severe colitis with an active infection.

I would advise you the following:
nvestigations:
*Routine blood investigations like Complete blood picture, blood sugar, urea, creatinine, liver function tests, thyroid function tests.
*Urine -routine and microscopy, culture and sensitivity.
*Stool: routine, microscopy, occult blood, culture and sensitivity.
*Ultrasonography of abdomen,

All these investigations along with a physical examination by a General Surgeon would help you to get an exact diagnosis and a plan for a perfect treatment.
