What Is The Treatment For Shortness Of Breath?
why do I have a shortness of breathing when I try to tie my shoes even if I have my leg propt up and when taking a shower or heavy breathing when walking the golf course. I also have this same problem when at work and have to bend down to pick mail up from the floor(sometimes in a 4x5 enclosure).

Thanks for your question on HCM. In my opinion you are having breathlessness on minimal exertion. This needs cardiac and pulmonary evaluation.
So I advice you to get done
1. ECG and 2D Echo to rule out any cardiac cause and get idea about heart function.
2. Chest x ray and PFT (Pulmonary FunctionTest) to rule out lung causes.
