What Is The Treatment For Pain After Wisdom Teeth Removal?

Hi, I removed my final wisdom tooth (lower) five days ago. The pain was going down after a few days but it came back yesterday, and now my entire lower jaw is extremely achy. Is this normal? Should I go back to the dentist, or is it enough to take painkillers and ride it out?
