What Is The Treatment For Muscular Pain In My Right Thigh?

Hi. I have had this problem for a while now. My right thigh...the large muscle on the outside of my thigh...hurts. It used to feel like it had pin pricks or tingling but now it is actually becoming painful. And it is much more defined than the same muscle on the left leg. And harder. Got any ideas?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Dear sir,
There is a nerve which crosses the thigh and supplies the lateral aspect of the thigh area. Its called the lateral cutaneous nerve of thigh. When this nerve gets compressed while entering the thigh it causes the symptoms that you are having. It is commonly seen in patients who are obese and have pendulous abdomen. I would suggest you meet a neurologist who will be able to help you. The initial treatment consists of medications and posture corrections. If improvement is not seen in rare cases even surgical decompression can be done.
