dear sir I can understand your concern
the medication prescribed to you is called as a steroid
they help you in reducing the inflammation
but they have some effects like increasing blood sugars
usually patients attending to my clinic who are on steroids I will suggest slight dose change in diabetes medication.
I suggest you to complete the course of steroids and follow dose change as per your treating doctor
regards
