What Is The Treatment For High Blood Pressure And High Cholesterol?

I have a protruding upper abdomen which has been that way for awhile. I m finding it very difficult to do crunches and sit ups and if I even eat the smallest meal, I notice it sticks out even more as if I ve eaten a meal for two. It always hurt and never seems to go down even if I drink a magnesium citrate. My lower stomach will go down, but not upper. What could it be? I do suffer from iron deficient anemia, serious acid reflux and serious amounts of protein in my urine. Also diagnosed with high blood pressure and high cholesterol.

Welcome to healthcaremagic,
It takes time, hard work and dedication to bring your blood pressure and cholesterol in normal range.
Normal blood pressure for adults is less than 140 over 90.
In order to control blood pressure and high cholesterol follow the given below advice:
1. Regular exercise such as brisk walking for at least 30 minutes per day
2. Consume a diet rich in fruits, vegetables and low fat dairy products.
3. Have more of legumes and beans
4. Reduce salt intake to less than 5 grams per day (1 teaspoon is approximately 5 grams)
5. Limit biscuits, cakes, pastries, pies, processed meats, commercial burgers, pizza, fried foods, potato chips, crisps and other savoury snacks.
6. Avoid consuming alcohol and aerated drinks as they have high calories.
7.Take your medications regularly and get your blood pressure checked at least once a month and cholesterol once in 3 months.
Last but not least drink plenty of water.
Hope that answers you question.
Regards, Dr.Imaad
