What Is The Treatment For Having Numbness In Arm And Tongue?

I am a 50 year old female. today at work, my left arm started feeling heavy, and numb with no feeling, and my tongue felt funny like numb as well. i could tell that something was wrong, so i sat down for about 10 minutes, then returned to work. my tongue feel better, however my arm still feels funny like its dead. please help me and tell me what to do. i started to go to the ER, but i have a doctor appt. tomorrow.

Thanks for query on HCM.
Numbness,heaviness in the arm is most likely due to neurological involvement at the cervical level.
There might be compression of any nerve root at the cervical level.
It usually occurs at this age due to Beginning of osteoporosis.
It also occurs after some injury,continuous improper position during sitting,sleeping,working.
You have to take nsaid with muscle relaxant.
Therapeutic dose of b12,folic acid,calcium,d3 will be helpful .
Intra muscular injections of b12,folic acid is advisable.
Ibendronate,risedronate to prevent osteoporosis.
Go for x-rat cervical region and start treatment under guidance of orthopedician.

Your condition seems to be like neurological one and since it was sudden in onset there are two possibilities, it may be a stroke attack or a multiple sclerosis attack you can take 1 tablet of aspirin if now to make your blood thin so that progression of stroke is limited. You can take appointment of Neurologist ASAP today itself or else visit ER. The neurologist will order MRI of brain and spine and CSF test for oligo clonal bands, NCV etc to make a diagnosis.
No need to panic however take help of some one to assist you.
