What Is The Treatment For Diarrhea?
My 14 month old son has had diarrhea for 4 weeks, off and on. If he eats enough starches, it is not so loose but then it goes back to what I call explosion poop . He is not eating as much as he used to. Doctor said it s a virus infection that is going around and now I myself am having some episodes. Could it be his milk? He cries more than usual and wants to breastfeed more since I started to wean him off it 2 months ago. He has tears when he cries so not concern about dehydration. He loves his water. Could it be his fluoride water?

It seems your kid is having acute watery diarrhea. Unless the kid's having low urine output or very dull or excessively sleepy or blood in motion or green bilious vomiting...you need not worry.
Unless there is blood in the motion there is no need for antibiotics or cultures. Antibiotics might worsen if unnecessarily used causing antibiotic associated diarrhoea. I suggest you use zinc supplements & ORS. For vomiting you can use Syrup Ondansetron 0.15mg/kg/dose thrice a day, 30minutes before feeds.
