I have a severe diaper rash looking outbreak on my mons pubis. I have used a diaper rash cream and Vaseline, but it isn t healing. I don t know what I should use. It itches only slightly, but I feel as if it is weeping although not sure of that. I also have experienced a recurrent UTI for over a dozen years (I take a daily antibiotic i.e. Keflex once a day.) I am 73 years old and competed menopause over 25 years ago. I wear a light incontinence pad most all the time because I have very little bladder control. In addition, I have been on Simvastatin, Atenolol and generic Nexium for a long time.
Hi. As per your case history of diaper rash, my treatment advice is - 1. Maintain good hygiene and bath twice daily. 2. Apply a skin barrier cream like klinoderm-dpr cream thrice daily. 3. Apply an antifungal cream like clotrimazole cream twice daily on it. 4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics, oral fluconazole taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
