What Is The Treatment For Diabetic Retinopathy Other Than Laser?

I have diabetic retinopathy. I am searching for an answer other than laser treatments. As laser may take away my night vision and/or peripheral vision. I have researched Avastin injections, but I have heard they are temporary. I am hoping I have other options such as diet.

Diabetologist 's  Response
Hi, I had gone through your query and understood your concerns.
this diabetic retinopathy could be of different stages,
not all the stages of retinopathy require laser .
stages like mild NPDR can be maintained with good glycemic control and drugs.
when the retinopathy is severe to prevent damage of healthy retina they will burn the damaged tissue with laser and prevent spread of haemorrhage.
Better molecules are in pipe line and will be coming soon.
Hope I was able to help you.
If you have any further question fell free to write me back.I will be happy to help.
Take care.
Best Regards.
