What Is The Treatment For Diabetes And Yeast Infection?

My husband is diabetic and has frequent yeast infections. I have a cold sore type lesion in the corner of my mouth. I used some monistat on it and it scabbed over and itched like crazy but doesnt seem to get better. How can i tell if its yeast or cold sore?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Yeast infections of the mouth would normally affect the inside of the mouth-the tongue, inside of the cheeks. It would not normally affect the outside in most persons.

Cold sores are normally associated with some measure of discomfort, small water filled lesions that would turn into small ulcers. These would then scab over.

Based on your description, it is more likely a cold sore.

The scab will fall off within a few days.

I hope this helps
