I have been poorly for 2weeks now with cold/flu symptoms...and had to have a doctor visit me new years eve as my head was so bad. He said it was an infection and I am finishing today a 7day course of Amoxicillin 250mg. Today I feel great. but about half an hour ago I bent down to undo my shoe and some brown/yellow liquid just ran out of my nose quite quickly. Would this be normal after being so poorly?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have cold and flu symptoms which are pointing towards upper respiratory tract infection leading to common cold, which can be caused by bacterial or viral infection. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination .For now continue doing gargles and drink one spoon of honey mix with glass of lukewarm water. You should avoid smoking completely as it is exaggerating your symptoms. Doctor may order test like viral culture test , throat swab test and blood test to confirm the diagnosis and rule out causes. Doctor may prescribe anti bacterial amoxicillin or anti viral acyclovir depending upon the diagnosis along with decongestants. You should take steam inhalation along with vaporizers. Avoid hot, sharp , spicy food.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
