Hello i have just gone for a tonsilectomy andcmy ent specialist and doctor not had a certain opinion on it just that maybe best to have them out . So i was ready for operation today and asked the surgeon for his opinion andc he said he only would do it if it affecting my diet when i have tosilitus and if i get it more than 5 times a year and have to take over 5 weeks off work a year . Well i say in past 12 months iv had it maybe 2,3 times quite bad and iv had it bad in the past but he says this isnt a good enough reason for the operation . Again i told him i suffer with fairly big red tonsils with yellowish looking cryps and pale looking tissue. And they do bleed easy. He said he didnt care what they looked like or anything wich isnt really what i wanted to hear and said if they cause u to miss work often ( i put up with it and go to work when im having tonsilitus ,which i told him and i manage a normal diet, toasts and rough food ect.) and effect my diet then thats only main reason to go for the operation . This has made me feel misled and confused now on what to do as i was told by my doctor it would be best method for me.
