Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain infection and inflammation in tonsils also known as Tonsillitis can occur due to bacterial or Viral Infection, acid irritation caused due to Acid reflux, post nasal drip etc..
In case if the Tonsillitis is not a very frequent finding and the tonsils are not swollen chronically you do not need Tonsillectomy done as it is advised in cases of chronic enlarged tonsils that do not resolve or if there is very frequent infection..
At times tonsils are also removed if there is frequent occurrence of tonsil stones which can cause problems like a very bad breath and chronic infection in tonsils..

As tonsillitis occurring 3 to 4 times a year is not an abnormal finding so if you have any frequent issues you can get them removes otherwise taking medication and doing warm saline gargles and steam inhalations will relieve..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
