What Is The Treatment For Tachycardia?

Hi im 16 years old, female im 5'7 and i weigh 145 pounds, im very athletic and work out alot at the gym, i am very big into fitness and am vegetarian. My diet is healthy and consists mainly of fruit and vegetables. For the past two weeks or so, i have been getting a very fast heart beat , and dizzy. Today it has gotten slightly worse and my heart rate was very fast (about 3 beats per second) i had trouble breathing and had sharp pains in my body causing me to jerk a little, this lasted for 30 minutes and has calmed down now a little, i was just wondering if you might know what is causing this or what i can do to try stop this?

There are many causes of tachycardia but what seems likely from what you're describing is that you are having so called "neurocardiogenic" symptoms.
This basically means that you're having short bouts of hypotension which then causes a reflex tachycardia and the sense of feeling faint or unwell.
It is common in young athletic females.
Advice is to stay hydrated. This happens when your body needs fluids.
Drink lots of watery especially during the summer season and when exercising.

If it persists you have to pay your doctor a visit.

Best of luck
