What Is The Treatment For Bronchitis And Pneumonia In A 2 Year Old?

2 year old with a bad cough that is mucus sounding. Can t cough up the mucus. Also drinks very little and hardly going to the bathroom. Don t know how long to wait to take him to ped dr. I am worried bc he has been around someone with bronchitis and pneumonia.

Hello. Thank you for your question. I am sorry your aon is not well. Fever and cough are common symptoms in this age group. Yhr vauses range from simple virus to bacterial pneumonia. If your son is struggling to breath, or the fever lasta beyond 48 hours, or he doesn't urinate for 24 hours ( a sign of dehydration), I recommend consulting with your doctor.
