What Is The Suggestion For A Red Spot Right Near My Butt Crack?
I have this spot right near my butt crack. It has hurt for a few days now. At first I thought it was a pimple or an ingrown hair but it hasnt gone away. The area around it has gotten bigger and it is hard. I had my girlfriend look at it and she said there is a red dot, no head but had a hair sticking out of it. It wasnt an ingrown hair, but when she pulled it out there was some white stuff at the end of the hair.
Hi there.
I note your history & empathise with you.
If you girlfriend's clinical description is spot on, then it appears you have some sort of pseudofolliculitis with a secondary skin infection arising from ingrown hairs & /OR POSSIBLY a Pilonidal sinus infection.
In either case, perhaps the order of the day is to take an antbiotic like Metronidazole 400mg & Ibuprofen (antiinflammatory) both in the same 400 mg doses with meals over the next 48-72 hrs & am sure you will get good relief.
Perhaps a soak in a shallow tub (called a Sitz bath) with some lukewarm water may help clear the region faster.
Good Luck & wish you good health always.
