What Is The Severe Pain In My Left Lung?
Thank you- just want I had hoped for- I have developed a fairly severe pain in my left lung- it is at its worse when I cough (even slightly) and my left rib at the bottom is also painful. I have no history of previous lung infection. I stopped smoking, must be 23 years ago. My aga is 76 (Just!) and I livev iive in Thailand. Over to you Doctorif I may please!

Chest pain on coughing is mostly due to lung diseases like pleural effusion and pleurisy.
So better to get done chest x ray first.
If chest x ray is normal then no need to worry for lung diseases.
Sometimes simple musculoskeletal pain can also cause similar symptoms.
So apply warm water pad on affected. Take painkiller and muscle relaxant drugs.
