What Is The Right Procedure To Take Nordette?

I have been on Norifam monthly injectable for 11 months since childbirth but had a very irregular cycle so I decided not to have it on the 12th month. I bled for 1 month and 7 days though it was a mix of bleeding and end period spotting on the near end. I started taking Marvelon the 1st month and 8th day and it was when the spotting/bleeding completely stopped. Yesterday was the 7th day on the pill. I know I did not start on the first day of my menstruation so i am uncertain if it was even effective. i took 4 nordette pills last night and the other 4 due in an hour from now. Should i continue with my pills? When I have withdrawal bleeding from nordette do i start on a new pack of my pill or continue with what i have? Thanks

Hi,
I understand your query.
Actually you could have continued with additional contraceptive ( condom) & continued with your Marvelon.
Nordette is an emergency contraceptive, needs to be taken within 120 hours of unprotected sex.You need not take two packs.
You should stop your regular pill( Marvelon)& wait for withdrawal bleeding-. Following it , on 5th day you start new pack of Marvelon one tablet at fixed time regularly for 28 days. & so on from 2nd day of menses, till you want to continue contraception.
In case of other bleeding patterns/complaints , because of double dose of Nordette, should get a check up by gynecologist.
Ideally regular medical check up & a gap ( while using other contraceptive) after 3 years is ideal.
Thanks.
