Swelling along with deposition of white stuff on upper lip may be due to abscess developed or due to oral mucosal lesions.

Apply mucopain gel on the affected area.

Maintain oral hygiene well.

Brush and floss your teeth as well as tongue daily.

Use chlorhexidine mouthrinses to gargle.

Plenty of fruits and vegetables has to be administered.

Visit a dentist for further reference.

Swelling in the upper lip can be due to many reasons few are infection, lip biting, allergy, insect biting.
I thorough clinical examination by the Dentist is required.

Apply local anesthetic and analgesic cream topically over the affected area.
Take lukewarm saline rinses.
Avoid eating of hot and spicy foodstuffs.
Avoid smoking and consumption of alcohol.
Start with the course of multivitamin suplements.

For swollen lip apply ice to the area to stop. If your child appears to be pain from the swollen lip, give him a dose of ibuprofen or acetaminophen for the discomfort. Try applying a tea bag to the lip to help reduce the swelling. Soak a tea bag in cold water for a few minutes before placing it on the lip. Apply a small amount of Vaseline to the lip.

Thrush is common in infants as their immune systems are still immature.
Thrush is not serious and can be treated with antifungal medications. Usually a liquid or lozenge is prescribed first and then a pill if these do not work. Doctors generally can diagnose thrush by just looking in your mouth.

your upper lip seems to have an infection which has caused swelling, but you haven't mentioned if it pains or not. one of the reasons may be may be lip biting which may have got infected, but we cannot rule out any cause until we check it clinically. i would like to inform you to visit a doctor , he may advise you to apply an ointment, which will resolve your problem .
