What Is The Remedy For Red Cracking Rashes Under The Armpits?
Have the same. Dark colored rash area under armpits. Soreness and red, plus cracking where you can see skin under it. Stopped using normal deodorant years ago and switched to the Thai Stone but now it s back with a vengeance. I can t even use soap now. Thinking about putting witch hazel or peroxide.
Hello, Thank you for posting on HCM. Seems you got contact dermatitis or intertrigo over our armpits but definitive diagnosis is not possible untill proper examination Contact dermatitis can be due to multiple factors and in you case seems to be due to regular use of deodorant. I would suggest you local application of cream containing betmethasone, clotrimazole and fusidic acid twice a day over affected areas for atleast 2 weeks. Add oral prednisolone 10mg twice a day for 5 days and once in morning for another 5 days. Oral antibiotic like cefadroxil for 5 days for the bacterial infection. Take antihistaminics like levocetrizine twice a day to decrease itching and irritation. Avoid using deodrants and perfumes over armpits for few weeks. Avoid pricking/scratching of lesions. Hope this will take care of your issue. Thank you, Dr Hardik Pitroda
