What Is The Remedy For Nausea And Dizziness?

Finished a long treatment (3 months with dosing up and down from 60 to 5) of prednisone last week (10 days ago) and have been having periods of time where I feel miserable (body pains, nausea, dizzy, incredible weak, trembly) - should I be concerned about this?

1. when one is tapering off steroids he/she is bound to have 'mood swings' and/or flaring up of symptoms, i.e. with long-term use [3 months], steroids can result in the following side effects.

. Steroid withdrawal syndrome [ include fatigue, joint pain, muscle stiffness, muscle tenderness, and/or fever]...present in your complaints [discuss them with your doctor who will find the lowest dose you need to control your disease.]

. also long term intake of steroids causes altered response to stress [when you have been taking steroids for a longer time your adrenal glands no longer produce cortisol, the natural corticisteroid hormone, produced by the body to fight illness and cope with stress], bleeding problems [look out for black/tarry stools] infection [since steroids suppress the immune system have pneumococcal vaccine as prophylaxis ] increase in risk of fractures [check with bone density], high blood pressure [low salt diet], high blood sugar level [monitor your sugar level], and many more [you may ask your Doctor for exhaustive list]

. incorporate calcium supplements [milk products, yogurt, cheese] alongwith Vitamin D which is necessary for absorption of calcium.
. avoid tobacco in any form.
. Weight-bearing exercises: will improve your balance and flexibility and decrease your risk of falls.

. For nausea chew cardamom, ginger, lime or crushed ice and for dizziness: bed rest, spinning movements of head, plenty of fluids, breath slowly and avoid bright lights
