What Is The Recovery Time And Effectiveness Of Surgery For Heterotopic Ossification Of Right Elbow?

Hello I am having surgery for heterotopic ossification of my right elbow. I had a previous injury where I shattered the lower distal humerus. I can not fully flex or extend my right arm. What is my recovery time and will I ever have a full range of motion in that arm again?

Heterotopic ossifiction is a bad disease as results are not predictable and some time it can recur also. we cannot tell how long time it will take in complete recovery. It can be months. And even then you will achieve full movement this is not guaranteed. So you can discuss all pros and cons with your operating surgeon and then go ahead with your surgery.
