What Is The Recommended Solution For Rib Cage Pain Caused By A Rib Injury?

I sustained a rib injury during pre-season rugby, after two weeks of rest I felt able to play again. However the rib injury has come back again after playing and is affecting my day-to-day movement and ability to play. The pain seems to be located under the rib cage on the left hand side, and seems to be muscle related rather than bone related.

Hello,
Treatment involves total rest and avoiding sporting activity for 3 weeks along with local icing for few days and oral anti inflammatory medication like ibuprofen 400 mg three times a day for 5-7 days.
For precautionary purpose, get an x ray done to rule out fracture.
Thanks
