What Is The Reason For Not Getting Erection Or Wet Dreams If Am Smoker And Having BP, Diabetes?

I am a 30 years old guy, smoker, suffering from high blood pressure issues and diabetes and my cholesterol level is kinda high! I am in a good shape and my weight is ideal. My problem is that I haven't had any sort of erection in the last couple of months, not even wet dreams! Haven't touched my girl in these two months as I'm afraid I'll fail to have a proper erection while i'm with her inspite that before she used to turn me on even through touching my hand! porn didn't work either.

could the reason be some sort of stress or depression? what medical exams do I need to take?

Thanks in advance

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Thanks for your query, presence of high blood pressure, diabetes, deranged lipid profile (cholesterol) and smoking can cause problems with erection, depression and stress can also contribute. You need to stop smoking and have your blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol under control. you need to be assessed for presence of depression and treated if present. There are tests available which will differentiate between erectile dysfunction because of medical reasons and psychological reasons and that can help you in deciding further course of action

General & Family Physician Dr. Syed Zia Hussain's  Response
The most likely cause of erection problems in people with diabetes is due to, what we call as, autonomic neuropathy.
This can be solved by taking regular sildenafil (viagra) which would be prescribed by a doctor.
Stress and depression should also be considered and ruled out.
The diagnosis is usually clinical and does not require further tests.
Sometimes a blood level of testosterone and FSH are done to have a look at the hormones.
