A 75-year-old woman, stumbled slightly while walking, then felt a terrible pain in her left hip. At the hospital, X rays revealed that the hip was broken. Also, the compact and spongy bone throughout her spine were very thin. What was her probable condition?

I have gone through your question and I advice you some following test to rule out the cause.

1) Serum electrophoresis for multiple myeloma
2) Renal function test
3) Serum calcium
4) parathyroid hormone

Hypocalcemic conditions causes decreased bone density and fractures. Review with the reports.
