What Is The Possibility Of Increase In Small Pigmentation On Lower Lip ?
I have small depigmentation on my lower lip which is actually located the inner part of it . Not very much visible and it came couple of months before . I have seen a dermatologist and i am using Tacrolimus oinment 0.03% . Also i have two small white patch on my back from 3-4 years . Cant really say it increased in size or not because i was not bothered about it so far. Is it advisable to use tacrolimus on my lips because there is a possibility that it can go in to my month ? What is the possibility for this white patch to increase in size and become a problem for me ?
Hi there, Thanks for posting here. You appear to have a leukoderma. Not to worry we have treatment for it. Your doctor has given you the correct medicine, you can safely use tacrolimus on the lips. The course of this problem is not predictable but you need to keep a watch over the size of the lesions and also if any fresh patches come, that can be treated successfully. If your lip depigmentation is not responding to tacrolimus, we have surgical treatment also for it. Avoid biting your lips. Take care. Hope this helps you. Regards, Dr Shilpa Bhat Bangaluru
