What Is The Pinkish Tinge After Urinating?

I notice that when I am urinating, after I wipe I have been seeing a slight pink on the toilet paper for a week. This morning I woke up to go and I had a more pronounced blood stain. This happens only when I pee. Also I have no pain when urinating. Lastly, I noticed that I have been itching down there more than usual. Do I need to go to the doctor right away? What do you think it is?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to a urinary tract infection.

I suggest doing a urine test to confirm the diagnosis.

I recommend using anti-inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the symptoms.

If the diagnosis is confirmed, I suggest using a cycle of antibiotics such as Ciprofloxacin.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
