What Is The Opinion On Mild Prostatomegaly On USG?

Recent USG shows mild prostatomegaly. No significant post void residue. Liver is normal in size measuring 11 cm. It shows uniform increase in echogenicity. No focal lesion is seen. The intra hepatic billary radicals are normal.CBD and portal vein normal. PV measures 10mm. CBD measures 4.6 mm. Spleen/pencreas normal. Kidneys normal. Prostate measures 4.3x3.1x4.1 cmvolume 29.5 cc. Liver has a coarse echotexture suggestive of liver parenchymal disease. I am cured from cancer liver lymphoma IV B applying 6 cycles CHEMOTHERAPY with RITUXIMAB. Fully cured in Dec 2011. Now may I request you to offer your valued opinion on the recent USG report mentioned in brief in para first above ?

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

The prostate is slightly enlarged at 29.5 cc. Normally its below 25 cc. The liver, spleen, kidneys and bladder are normal. Even there is no urine remaining in the bladder after urination. You may follow up with your doctor. If there is no problem with urination then no need of medications. You may empty your bladder once completely before going to bed at night.
