What Is The Normal Recovery Time From Anteromedial Tibial Tubicle Transfer?

I had an anteromedial tibial tubicle transfer on 2/28/11. It is now 2 months later, still very painful, still using crutches. I do my PT exercises daily & attend PT weekly. My knee bend is 110 degrees. I use ice daily too. I am a female 50 yrs. Old. In May 2010 I had a lateral release with chondromalacia. Since it didn t take, my surgeon chose this TTT surgery. Is this a normal recovery time? Thank you.

It normally takes 4 to 6 months post surgery for a full rehab, process. if the pain is more keep the leg elevated when at rest. How is the check X-ray at 8 weeks. You will need to use crutches to reduce weight bearing for another 4 to 6 weeks.Get your Bone density scan done and treat osteoporosis. This may also contribute to pain.Discuss with the physiotherapist on the mechanical effect of the surgery viz. Q-angle.
