What Is The Normal Range Of Sgot?

I am a 49 year old female. I have been taking Lipitor for 11 years and have had my choleseterol tested twice a year since then. My liver function tests have always been normal. Today I found out that my most recent SGOT result was 54. My doctor told me not to worry and to have my blood tested again in 3 months. What do you think?

I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
Normal level of sgot is 5 to 40 U/ L. You have slightly high level of sgot but its not a cause of concern. Many times it happens. Mild liver insult can cause that. No need to worry. just be relaxed. You should repeat the sgot level after 3 month. Mostly it will come back to normal. If you have any symptoms then consult your doctor. Otherwise no need to worry at all.
