What Is The Normal Range Of Antibody Test?

Thyroid antibody query .....
I have sub-clinical overactive thyroid with TSH less than 0.05, and T3nd T4 are borderline. I have asked for an antibody test, which came back as 935 iu/ml. The reference ranges state - negative 100. So 935 seems rather high - or is it? How high is high?

Hello and welcome to HCM,

Elevated antibody levels suggests presence of autoimmune thyroiditis.
Thyroiditis is inflammation of thyroid gland and in autoimmune diseases, antibodies are the cause.
A low TSH level with borderline T3 and T4 suggests sub-clinical hypothyroidism.
Sub-clinical implies that if treatment is not taken, you will develop hypothyroidism.

I would suggests you to consult your doctor with reports.
An immunosuppressive therapy which will suppress the levels of antibodies will be the most appropriate mode of treatment.

Thanks and take care
