What Is The Normal Alpha-fetoprotein Level?
Routine analysis showed AFP of 15 ng dl. 2 months later of 12 ng dl. At this points the abdominal eco showed liver hemangioma and steatosis. Ct tórax and abdomen was normal. Endoscopy and colonoscopy were normal. Hepatitis C and B negative. One year later AFP was 13.6 ng dl. The abdominal eco showed liver hemangioma. One year later (two, contingência from the first eco) the abdominal eco showed liver hemangioma. The doctor did not ask AFP. No smoking. No alcohol abuse. Should I BE worried? Is the second value of AFP and the 3rd eco reassuring. Is this value of AFP normal?

AFP is measured in nanograms per milliliter. An AFP level of less than 10 ng/mL is normal for adults. An extremely high level of AFP in your blood—greater than 500 ng/mL—could be a sign of liver tumors.
