What Is The Medication For Vomiting Due To Indigestion?

My wife felt fine when she got up this morning but all of a sudden she had to vomit and it feels like she has bad indigestion. She has the chills. I ate the same food she did last night (without a problem) and she did not eat anything this morning. What should we take.

Hello
I understand your concern.
It is important that your wife drink clear fluids at room temperature to prevent dehydration. (Avoid sugary liquids that can cause diarrhea.) If she is not allergic to sulfa, she may take pepto-bismol which will help with both indigestion and nausea/vomiting. Remember the pepto can cause stools to turn black, so do not be alarmed if this occurs. She may also try an H2 blocker such as zantac which will help with the increased stomach acid production.
The chills may be a reaction to the vomiting or may be an indication of something more serious. If she has any severe abdominal pain , fever or rash, she should seek medical attention as she may have a bowel obstruction or and intestinal infection.
I hope she gets better soon.
