What Is The Dosage Of Bentyl For Back Pain?

I have been diagnosed with idiosyncratic recurrent pancreatitis. I have been admitted 5 times for IV fluids and morphine for pain. My admit is usually 24-36 hrs and I m back to normal. Every time the pain has presented a in different places in my torso but the pain is distinct & I always know its pancreatitis. I had the same pain earlier today & took 10mg of Bentyl & within an hour the pain was much better. I am drinking water & feeling better and I would like to take another 10mg of Bentyl. I looked up the dosage of Bentyl & it said the dosage was 20mg 4 times a day. Would it be ok to take another 10 mg dose?

Addiction Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

This isn't really a medication for either back pain nor pancreatitis. it is an anti spasm medicine for the bowel and is 10 to 20 mg up to 3x a day.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
