I had a care accident in April 2013, Shortly after that I started experiencing pain in my right hip and buttocks and it radiates to the front of my theigh. I have seen serveral doctor received an MIR which didn't show anything but athridis. I have been in terrible pain since then.
Hello and welcome to HCM, The pain in hip region radiating to front of thigh can be due to nerve compression or arthritis as suggested by your doctor. You need to consult your orthopedician for further work up of the condition. Nerve compression can occur after trauma. Decompression of the nerve will relieve the chronic pain. In case the pain is secondary to arthritis, the type of arthritis needs to be found out. Senile arthritis is age related degeneration. Senile arthritis is called osteoarthritis. It is initially managed by physiotherapy, pain killers and drugs which slow down the degenerative process. In very severe cases surgical treatment is needed.
Thanks and take care DR Shailja P Wahal
