Hi,

I cannot say in his situation. Without replacement, and at 87, I can see why they might have problems with that, then stabilization is the best that can be managed. This is either improving fitness, muscle tone, coordination, all of which therapy does, or externally supporting the knee with braces that are made with steel and sturdy materials.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
