Hi dear ,

The symptoms you mention in query are due to TMJ ( temporomandibular joint )problem as your doctor also said . It will take some times for pain to go . Moreover there is always some underlying cause for TMJ , that cause need to be corrected for full get rid of the symptoms . The causes for TMJ are stress , misalignment of teeth , wisdom tooth and TMJ it self . You need proper evaluation of the situation . For this you should consult oral surgeon . He/she may order X-ray or CT scan to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may prescribe muscle relaxant , extract wisdom tooth or refer you to orthodontist for alignment of teeth . Some times surgical procedure require for TMJ .

For now continue taking ibuprofen and mouth piece or guard to prevent attrition of teeth due to bruxism .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
