What Is The Cause To Bleed When I Excrete?

every time I go to the bathroom (number 2) I poo out blood. it doesn't hurt that much but it is weird... been happening for at least six months... i used to be a vegan for at least a year and four months and now I started eating meat two months ago to make sure its not a diet problem.... It still happens. It doesn't hurt to sit down at all and it doesn't bother me what so ever during my daily activities (even while performing in sports and such). It is not constant and I only see it when I wipe after going to the bathroom and smell it in my poo. what could it be?

Hi,

Thanks for writing to health care magic.
I can understand your concern.

There could be several causes for blood in the stool. One of them could be haemorroids. There are several other causes like anal fissures, infection etc.

A local examination by your doctor will rule out causes like piles. Further investigations like proctoscopy or colonoscopy may be some times required.

Please consult your doctor without neglecting the problem. Anaemia can also occur because of constant loss of blood.
